I was delighted to see in my news feed this morning that Hearthstone, Blizzard Entertainment's popular Warcraft-themed card battle game, is now available on Android and iOS mobile devices.

For the most part, the game runs pretty well on a small screen (albeit my phone is a Nexus 5, with a 1080p screen pushed into a 5" LCD).

They've changed the layout for mobile devices. Check out the screens and discuss! Screenshot_2015-04-15-07-46-21.png Screenshot_2015-04-15-07-46-21.png Screenshot_2015-04-15-07-46-48.png Screenshot_2015-04-15-07-48-07.png Screenshot_2015-04-15-07-47-44.png

I wish you could play it offline. How bad is it for data usage?

Surprisingly, very minimal My Android data usage for the month is 1.56mb for Hearthstone - which i expected more, given how much I've played it.

I've been playing at lunch breaks after your post and can confirm this. Even playing not solo only uses about 1 MB per game.

It all comes down to how many small cards you get early and the larger ones later. If they flop the other way you're screwed.

Yep. I started with Shaman/Thrall which uses a random totem ability hoping it's a totem with taunt for early game defense. I recently moved on to using Garrosh/Warrior with shield and hoping I get the weapon card to strike 4 hero damage per turn.

this game is starting to piss me off. I'm refusing to pay for cards and yet seem to be getting it handed to me in all sorts of wonderful combinations of cards that I don't have. It cost 700 gold to unlock the first solo game missions that weren't practice.
I've increased levels of about 6 of the heroes to get all of their basic cards so far.

Not ready to give up yet, but I'm winning maybe 1/5 of the matches I start.

Yeah, same here. Have you used the deck builder or a build from Icy Veins?

deck builder mostly, but I will tweak it if I'm not getting enough early ones or only small cards towards the end.

No shit, today I was on 30, the other guy was under 10 and I still lost.

Yeah, I've had plenty of times against opponents (mostly AI) where that's happened. It's not a case of cards - it's a case of skill. Personally, I know I'm pretty shit but I do well with certain characters like Garrosh and Thrall.
